The Party of No - For a Better America

The Republican Party is often called "the party of no"‐and America and the world is better for it: "No" is the birthright of The Grand Old Party. The GOP was founded in 1854 for one reason ‐ to say no slavery. "No you can't" is the Republican battle cry in defense of liberty; Ronald Reagan did not say "please" take down this wall." The GOP is not the party of silent submission; it is the party of hope for a better America.

Real hope is not an anxiety that the teleprompter works and the president does not say something stupid like; "Happy Cinco de Quatro, "57 states," or "Austrian language." Real hope is a Christian virtue, its Latin root "virtus" means courage. It takes a spine to say no to conceits of government: Confiscatory taxation, wasteful spending, intrusive bureaucracy; class envy, and racial divide.

The first bold "No" in the Republican legacy of no for a better America was in 1861 when Abraham Lincoln said no to secession of the Confederate states and led a brutal civil war that cost 618,000 lives to preserve the Union.

In 1886, Republicans then amended the constitution to say no to slavery, no to denying equal protection of law, and no to denying citizenship to former slaves.

In 1957 President Eisenhower said no to opponents of civil rights; he sent troops to enforce school desegregation.

In 1964 and '65, the Republicans said no to the filibuster by southern Democrats and voted unanimously to pass the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act for President Johnson.

In 1969 President Nixon boldly said no to job discrimination on federal projects and ordered America's first affirmative action.

In 1970 Richard Nixon also said no to hazards in the work place with the Office of Occupational Safety , and no to dirty air and water in 1971 with the Environmental Protection Agency. OSHA and the EPA received record budgets under Presidents Ford, Reagan, both Bush '41 and Bush '43. America's commitment to environmental protection began with Theodore Roosevelt who promoted the National Park System.

The Republican Party said no to denying women the right to vote; in 1920 it led passage of the 19th amendment; it also elected the first woman to Congress‐ Jeannette Rankin. In 1981 Ronald Reagan appointed the first woman to the U.S. Supreme Court‐Sandra Day O'Connor.

In 1987 and '89 President George H. W. Bush appointed Colin Powell the first African‐American CM of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and first National Security Advisor. In 2001 George W. Bush appointed Alberto Gonzolez the first Latino Attorney General, Elaine Chou first Chinese‐American Secretary of Labor, and Condolezza Rice the first African American woman Secretary of State.

The GOP legacy of no for a better America includes; no to abuse of labor, no to cartels and monopolies, no to tainted products, and no to deficient health, education and welfare: In 1884 the GOP created the Department of Labor, in 1890 it passed the Sherman Anti Trust Act and in 1906 the Pure Food and Drug Act.

The GOP also said no provincialism and opened the west with the Homestead Act; no to ignorance with College Land Grants, and no to nepotism with the Pendleton Act to reform civil service.

In 1953 the Republican Party said no to the past and created the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and in 1997 the Republican congress passed State Children's Health Insurance (S‐CHIP) sponsored by Rep. Senator Orin Hatch.

In 1990 George H.W. Bush said no to neglect of people with special needs and signed the American's With Disability Act.

In 2001 George W. Bush said no to inferior education with the No Child Left Behind Act, and in 2003, said no to the high cost of prescription drugs for seniors with the Medicare Drug Plan.

"No" by Republican presidents gave hope to millions: No to the Berlin Wall; no to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and its defiance of 17 U.N. resolutions; no to terrorism with the Patriot Act and no to: "This war is lost."

Republicans also said no to partisanship during two World Wars, Korea and Vietnam and supported Democrat presidents.

America and the world is better and safer because when it was easier to say yes, the Republican Party had the courage to say NO!

SENIORS SAY: "First Do No Harm"

“Whether to save one 20 year old who might live 60 years, or three 70 year olds who could live 10 years is unclear. We recommend the "Complete Lives System" that prioritizes younger people. Reform must redefine doctor’s ethical obligations for the greater good.‘

This ominous prognosis for America’s seniors was co written by the distinguished bio-ethicist, Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, PhD in the British Medical Journal, January. 2009. Doctor Emanuel is Special Advisor for Health Policy to the Office of Management and Budget--his brother is Rahm Emanuel, President Obama’s Chief of Staff. Ezekiel Emanuel supports “the 2009 Health Choices Act" (HR3200 it includes: Advance Planning Consultation for End of Life Services; and a “Center for Comparative Effectiveness” to base treatment on cost and patient age. (Section (Sect.1401) Seniors are greatly troubled by HR3200 –Republicans, independents and Democrats.

“Why are we making bad decisions for the sake of passing something on a self imposed deadline. I don’t know why our Senators -Feinstein and Boxer allowed it to happen.” Willie Brown, former Mayor of San Francisco asked this question in his column in the S.F. Chronicle, Dec. 27, 2009. Most seniors agree with “Da Mayor: Senior’s don’t buy from people in a hurry to sell something they won't buy for themselves. Americas seniors do not want their intelligence insulted: They question why Congress exempts itself and 2.4 million federal employees from HR3200. They also ask why a reform to reduce health costs excludes mal practice lawsuits that increase costs $200 million a year; and why health care leaders endorse a bill they never read. HR3200 will take over one sixth of the US economy and affect 300 million Americans from womb to tomb,

America’s forty million seniors age 65 and over, and fifty million “boomers” 50 to 64 are active, accomplished and informed: Millions work, run businesses, serve on boards, donate funds and volunteer hours valued at billions. They read, watch, listen and discuss health issues; half are married, own homes, assist their families- including aged parents. Eighteen million are veterans, and eight of ten votes regularly. Many face health and financial challenges and require costly assistance; two of ten live below poverty. They helped pay for and create a health care system that is the envy of the world. Medicare is not charity - seniors have earned it-and they don’t want it cut.

In 2008 both parties called for reforms to make health insurance and health care more affordable and available and America agreed, especially seniors. Today over half the nation opposes HR3200, and seniors oppose it most: Seniors know good intentions can cause harm; they remind proponents of HR3200– First do no harm”--the caveat of Hippocrates- the father of western medicine: HR3200 harms seniors; it cuts $500 billion from Medicare’s hospital and home care, nursing facilities, hospice, rehab, Medicare Advantage Insurance and especially the aged, disabled and terminally ill. HR3200 also increases taxes $400 billion; they include medical devices, stints and wheelchairs; and increases insurance premiums and total health costs.

Seniors ask why the American Medical Association, the American Nurses and Hospital Associations, and the AARP and PhARMA endorse a bill that cuts their Medicare. They’ve learned these health care leaders negotiated self serving deals: The AMA to protect certain billing rights; the AARP to protect sales of insurance; PhARMA to restrict drug imports; the Hospital Association to get insured patients, and the Nurses Association for pro union legislation. The AFL- CIO and SEIU and the American Bar Association also endorsed HR3200- but they don’t take care of the sick and never took an oath to ”do no harm.” Seniors now know eighty percent of America’s 800,000 doctors do not belong to the AMA -and most oppose HR3200, and over 60,000 members have quit the AARP since June..

The health care and government officials who endorse HR3200 know health budgets of countries with “government care” prioritize lower costs over patient care. Canada and European Union nations uses fewer MRIs, CT scans, advanced drugs and fewer beds per capita. They also report higher mortality for cancer and heart disease. In the EU the death rate from cancers in Great Britain is second only to Denmark, and only the German regions of Saarland, Bremen and Rheinland-Pfalz have a higher death rate from heart disease. Britain’s National Health Service also uses a system called “Quality Adjusted Life Years” to determine treatment based on cost and patient age; and it restricts renal dialysis for the aged, as do other EU nations: In Belgium and the Netherlands, euthanasia is legal; the Dutch also permit neo natal intensive care units to give lethal injections to newborns diagnosed unable to have “meaningful relationships. The entire EU invests only 16% of the world's biotech research; the US invests 78 percent for new drugs and technologies that save lives worldwide. Every year thousands from Europe seek treatment in the US; last year 39,282 came from Canada where the Supreme Court ruled: “Access to a waiting list is not health care.

Seniors know Medicare’s greatest costs are in the final years of life. they are wary of a “Center for Comparative Effectiveness” to recommend treatment based on cost and age. They also oppose federalized "Advance Consultation for "End of Life Service."(Sect.1233) Seniors have caring families and trusted advisors; those who need assistance can receive it at no cost; Every state has agencies and protective laws for Advance Directives -like California Probate Code 4700, and the national hot line (800-222-1753)

Seniors and most Americans now know the “47 million” reported to lack health insurance includes ten million who are not US citizens. The uninsured citizens include nine million that earn over $75,000 and eight million over $50,000. Another ten million citizens are eligible for insurance but not enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, S-Chip, veterans or employer’s plans. The ten million Americans who need assistance can be insured with patient centered options that preserve choice. They include; portability, interstate sales, group purchase, cash subsidies, risk pools for pre existing conditions, and tax exempt medical savings accounts.

Congress is buying the votes and will change anything to pass HR3200- and “fix it later.” Seniors know they will be first to lose most care -and the most years of life: They don’t want health policies for the “greater good,” from countries with moribund populations rampant with and anti life pathologies: The average “population replacement rate” in the EU is 1.5 per couple, and suicide, abortion and substance abuse is record high. The EU defense budget to protect its population is a telling 1.6 percent of GDP, and Canada is 1.1 percent. The US expends 6.1 percent of GDP to protect American lives- and Canadians and Europeans.

The 1991 national best seller “Parliament of Whores” by P.J. O’Rourke was hailed a “perceptive indictment of Congress.” A 2009 version could be titled “Parliament of Charlatans,” and indict health care and government officials that support HR3200. The Surgeon General should declare them "Dangerous to America's health." America's Senior’s will remind them 21st century America is not 8th century Sparta where ailing seniors and sickly newborns were left on a hillside to die: In America the right to life is inalienable, America is not the EU- “first do no harm.”

MDN Letter Chron won't print

SF CHRONICLE Editor Hopefully one can critique Joe Garofoli and Carla Marinucci and not be called a "fascist." ("Tea Parties Radicals" and '10 Election Fight."- Chron. Dec.14) Mr. Garofoli writes; "Some Tea Party supporters compare President Obama to Adolf Hitler." Ms. Marinucci, (dutifully) quotes California Democrat Party chairman John Burton; …"people call Obama a Communist." These reporters were professionally comfortable impugning Tea Party and Republican advocates; but neither named one person who made such charges. Surely some did –Democrats and liberals do not have a monopoly on ignorant charges about US presidents. Actually, both articles were informative; its a shame they had to advertised cheap charges by Pelosi-Reid -Burton and the DNC to cover for the most inept US president since Jimmy Carter. SENIORS WANT HEALTH CARE -NOT SPARTA CARE

SENIORS WANT HEALTH CARE-NOT “SPARTA CARE”

“Whether to save one 20 year old who might live another 60 years or three 70 year olds who could live only 10 years is unclear. We recommend the complete lives system-that prioritizes younger people for the greater good.”

This ominous prognosis for America’s seniors in the British Medical Journal January, 2009 was co written by the distinguished bio ethicist, Ezekiel J. Emanuel, MD and PhD. Doctor Emanuel is special advisor for health policy to the White House Office of Management and Budget; his brother is Rahm Emanuel, President Barak Obama's Chief of Staff. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School and PhD in political philosophy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

Prioritizing younger people “for the greater good” is instinctive; In 650 BC the Spartans left ailing seniors (and weak infants) on hillsides to die; as did primitive nomads. America's Founders understood this primal instinct; they declared the right to life is “unalienable for all men.” Today many health care and government leaders do not believe unalienable means "that which cannot be taken," nor that–"all men"-includes aged, disabled and terminally ill.

Seniors expect government to fix what’s wrong and protect what’s right. They instinctively question a 2000 page law that includes "Advance Consultation for End of Life Service, (Section 1233.) and a federal “Center for Comparative Effectiveness” to determine treatment based on cost and age.(Sect.1181)

Seniors will remind health care leaders and government officials what the Founding Fathers told King George in 1776 –“the right to life is inalienable.” They also will remind the AMA: "PRIMUM NON NOCERE." -FIRST DO NO HARM

SFRA Chairman blasts Dems & SF Chron

S.F. CHRONICLE EDITOR In the 2008 campaign both candidates agreed on the need to reform health care. The President and Democrat majority has presented a 1037 page $1 trillion cradle to grave federal intrusion on 300 million Americans that excludes needed tort reform and Republican input. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has reported massive cost deficits, and the recent town hall meetings disclosed serious voter concerns, especially from senior citizens. The 2009 Affordable Health Choices Act, HR 3200 is now opposed by “likely voters” 56 to 43 percent; it should be modified on a bipartisan basis. Instead, the Democrat Party has responded to citizen’s concerns with former president Carter calling opponents of the President’s plan “bigots” and Speaker Pelosi has suggested opponents may cause “violence.” Worse, the San Francisco Chronicle amplified these charges with an editorial cartoon depicting Americans that attend Tea Parties standing around a burning cross, the caption reads: “These Tea Party protesters are getting kind of scary.” Is this what the Chronicle thinks of American citizens who attended Tea Parties; seniors, handicapped, veterans, including this writer, and all who oppose the bill as presently written? SFRA Chairman says - Report ACORN

S.F. CHRONICLE Editor “Inside glorious nation of ACORN.” (Sept 17) Debra Saunders has done for 400,000 readers of the Chronicle what its political reporters are not doing: Readers deserve to know ACORN is a non profit tax exempt organization now under investigation in 14 states for voter registration fraud and political activities in the 2008 presidential campaign. The IRS has filed three tax liens of almost $1 million against ACORN. The Obama campaign has reported paying $832,000 for get-out-the-vote efforts to an ACORN affiliate, Citizens Consulting Inc., but filed the payments with the Federal Election Commission as 'staging, sound, lighting.' It corrected the false filings only after being exposed. Ms. Saunders has reminded readers that both California Senators Feinstein and Boxer have joined in an 83-7 vote to prohibit granting federal housing funds to ACORN, and the U.S Census Bureau has terminated its partnership agreement with ACORN. Governor Schwarzenegger and the California Republican Party has urged the Secretary of State Bowen to conduct an investigation of voter registration activities by ACORN or its representatives. This issue deserves daily attention by the political staff of the San Francisco Chronicle. Mike DeNunzio CHAIRMAN S.F. REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY The Conscience of the Republican Party

SFGOP - The Adult Party

September 4, 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Editor “Are you sitting down for this? There is a San Francisco Republican Party” wrote Heather Knight- mocking the S.F Republican Party in her report on the resolution passed by the SFGOP Central Committee condemning Supervisor Campos’ legislation regarding undocumented youth. (City Insider, Sept 4) Indeed there is a San Francisco Republican Party; it is the adult party in the City that does the right thing. In 1999 the SFGOP endorsed Willie Brown and stopped a radical takeover of The City by Tom Ammiano. In the 2003 mayoral runoff the SFRCC turned out 35,000 GOP voters to enable Gavin Newsom to edge leftist Matt Gonzolez by 15,000 votes- and save free enterprise and private property in San Francisco. The Adult Party reminds elected officials t heir first responibility is to obey the law. The California Court of Appeals has ruled San Francisco must obey federal and state law and notify federal authorities when an undocumented person is arrested- regardless of age. In 2009 the San Francisco Republican Party again will do the right thing. The San Francisco Republican Assembly SFRA commends SFRCC Chairman Howard Epstein for the resolution sponsored by member Dr. Mike Antonini and PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the full committee for the SFGOP to work with Republican coalition partners to defeat this misguided ordinance at the polls, or in the courts. All candidates should heed this warning. MIKE DENUNZIO

Turn in Nazi Teabaggers

San Francisco Chronicle Editor Speaker Pelosi smears as "Nazis" Americans that protest the proposed health plan; the White House blog tells Americans to “turn them in;” the President tells Americans to “get in their face,” and the AFL-CIO threatens them. The liberal columnist, Cynthia Tucker refers to Americans as “shouting, stomping, tea baggers.” (Insight, Aug 9) Thankfully, the Chronicle has Debra Saunders to remind Americans the threat this administration, and its minions in the media poses to the first amendment. Palin Envy

PALIN ENVYMike DeNunzio According to Freud, the defining moment in psychosexual development of a female and a male child is when they learn the female does not have a penis. The female reaction is “penis envy” and the male reaction is “castration anxiety.” These metaphors characterize Sarah Palln; liberal women are jealous of her, liberal men fear her, and she is envied by both. ENVY is the sixth of the seven deadly sins; it is a sin that is not easy to commit, envy takes determination. One must resent another for possessing assets or qualities that he/she lacks, and also demean that person and enjoy seeing the person suffer. Cain killed Able in envy when God favored Able’s sacrifice over his own, and envy was the reason why Jesus was arrested: “(Pilate) knew that for envy they had delivered him, (because) more were listening to Him than them.” (Matt 27:18) In Dante’s allegorical description of Purgatory sinners of envy are punished by sewing their eyes shut with metal wire for taking pleasure in seeing another’s loss. Many people live in a purgatory of their own consumed with envy of others: The reaction to Sarah Palin is a modern parable about envy. This woman has qualities many women and men lack: She is attractive and athletic; she is a successful governor; she draws large crowds. She also is a attentive wife and mother of five who did something few do: She gave birth to a child with Down’s syndrome; ninety percent are aborted. This chromosomal disorder, Trisomy 21 impairs cognitive ability, physical growth, facial appearance and developmental abilities. Sarah Palin is grounded in the moral certitude that the unborn, the disabled and elderly have the same unalienable right to life as any other human being. She inspires millions for her opposition to abortion and euthanasia; Her critics denigrate her for this and say: ”Her primary qualification is she never had an abortion.” They also subject her to frivolous charges to consume her workday and cost her legal fees that now are $500,000 and $2 million for Alaska taxpayers. “Normal Americans do not find it difficult to understand why Sarah Palen resigned,” wrote John Dunn in the “American Thinker.” He added: Palin has a clear hierarchy of values; she knows her responsibility to serve the public, and to raise her family without distraction. Her eldest son is in Iraq; her eldest daughter is a single mother; her teen daughter is joked about and her infant has special needs. She will look at them and her husband and learn much; her critics will look at TV cameras and learn nothing. Sarah Palin is a bold 21st century woman with the courage to bring her Judeo Christian convictions to the public square. Her value judgments are not cynical calculations to win elections. She is envied, and she should be.

The Axis of Envy

Freud says the defining moment in the psycho-sexual development of a female and a male child is when they learn the female does not have a penis. He describes reaction of the female as “penis envy” and the male as “castration anxiety.” These metaphors characterize reaction to Sarah Palin.

In Dante’s allegorical description of Purgatory sinners of envy are punished by sewing their eyes shut with metal wire for taking pleasure in seeing another’s loss.

There is an axis of envy in America today seething in a purgatory of its own, the media-politicalacademic axis: (“MPA”) Elitists in both parties that overpopulate the ivy corridor of the DC-NY-Boston and the moral kindergartens of the Hollywood-SF-Bay Area. An MPA dinner party is a virtual orgy of penis envy and castration anxiety by green-eyed women and weedy men. They envy and fear Sarah Palin more than Dracula envies mosquitoes and fears a crucifix:

Sarah Palin threatens the conceits of the media-political-academic axis. She is a normal American; an assertive, athletic, attractive, happily married mother of five. She represents Americans who work, run small business, raise families, believe in God and serve their country. Palin is a grounded woman as certain as the Founding Fathers that every human being has the unalienable right to life, including the unborn, the disabled and elderly.

This lady is not a “Pol with a skirt.’ Sarah Palin defeated corrupt GOP old boys; was elected mayor and governor, nominated a VP candidate, drew record crowds and lifted McCain over Obama. (Until the DJ crash ended the contest.) Palin also did something few do; she gave birth to a child with Down’s syndrome, 90% diagnosed with this tragic chromosomal disorder are aborted. She had to be stopped.

In 2008 the MPA exposed its phobic envy. Never has a national candidate and family been subjected to unrelenting vicious denigration-“trailer trash,” “slutty look,” and worse. Elitists and wannabe airheads feigned concern over her lack of experience as governor to be VP, but not that of a community organizer to be President. Their obsession has continued in 2009 with (20) frivolous charges solely to consume her public duties, cost her (family) $500,000 and Alaska taxpayers $2 million.

“NORMAL AMERICANS do not find it difficult to understand why Sarah Palin resigned. She has a clear hierarchy of values; she knows her responsibility is to serve the public and to raise her family without distractions;” wrote John Dunn in “American Thinker.” (July, 2009).

Media-political-academic elites will continue to fear Sarah Palin, and they should. She is now free to speak to normal Americans across the country, and she does not need a teleprompter.

Cut state salaries-not services

Governor Schwarzenegger has proposed cutting state salaries by 5 percent to save $470 million to balance the budget. This is in addition to the two-day furlough state workers are taking already, but why only 5 percent? A 10 percent cut of $940 million could save $898 million needed for health and social services, home care for the disabled and Adult Health Care. The 213,603 state employees are the highest paid best pensioned state workers in the nation. An additional 10 percent cut in their pay pales with the 100 percent cut faced by 2 million unemployed Californians in the real world of the private sector. Government not tax payers has caused the budget crisis. Since 1996 tax revenues have increased 5.6 percent annually, yet state spending increased 5.9 percent. If spending simply equaled the 4.9 percent increase in population and inflation, the state would have a surplus. Instead Democrats and Republicans caved to unions, lobbyists and special interests. The number of state workers increased by thousands, and those with six-figure incomes doubled to 15,000, and salaries of the legislators increased from $99,000 to $116,000. The tax and spend politicians that betrayed their trust did not invade Sacramento and seize power; they were elected by we the people. If we elect more like them we will get more taxes, more spending, and ultimately more cuts in services to everyone. This can also be said for the Supervisors, Congress and White House.

"You ain't seen nothing yet."

Editor Remember the 1974 Rock song; “You ain’t seen nothing yet.” This is what a community organizer who whines about water boarding can cause his country in just four months as President and Commander in Chief. If the CIA lied to Congress about water boarding, as Mrs. Pelosi contends, the CIA liars should be prosecuted; it a crime to lie to Congress. If the CIA did not lie, then Mrs. Pelosi should resign as Speaker for falsely impugning the CIA. If Mrs. Pelosi knew about waterboarding, she should be prosecuted with other Democrats and Republicans in Congress who also knew, and the Bush officials that authorized torture, including the president and vice president. “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.“ Meanwhile, al Qaeda can't stop laughing Mike DeNunzio CHAIRMAN SAN FRANCISCO REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY

MD LETTER CHRON WON"T PRINT

SFRA Colleages, The Chronicle refused to publish this response to their Op Ed that bashed Republicans. SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE Editor Republican Bill Bagley laments the “withering” of the Republican Party (Chronicle, Open Forum, May 13) Mr. Begley, is a former state legislator who also served in the Ford administration. He speaks for the same "country club" Republicans that bemoaned the election of Ronald Reagan, and rushed to convert their wine cellars to bomb shelters when the “cowboy" president told Gorbechev to tear down the Wall. In the 2008 election they recoiled at Governor Sara Palin who refused to abort (kill) her child diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and they smugly impugned 58 million Americans that opposed Barak Obama as being “Nascar, bible toting, gun nuts.” These RINOs who now are preaching about withering of the GOP helped elect an incompetent Commander in Chief that demeans America with shameless apologies and undermines national security with an “overseas contingency operation” in place of an aggressive war on terrorism. The Republican Party was founded in 1854 for one reason–to say no to slavery. Today it says no to enslaving America with excessive ta xes and spending, mediocre socialized medicine, open borders, amnesty and sanctuary cities-and appeasement. It takes a spine to say no. Prop 1A-important notice

THE CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY

"The Conscience of the Republican Party" (Ronald Reagan) San Francisco Chapter - SFRA Mike DeNunzio, Chairman DEAR SFRCC COLLEAGUES: In ”Search for Excellence” Tom Peters cited two principles of successful organizations: #1-“The most important persons in any organization are those closest to the customer” AND #2- “Management by Walking Around.” SFRCC members are the “CLOSEST” to GOP “customers” in AD 12-13. We promised these voters we would BUILD the party and represent “THEM” on TAXES, SPENDING, etc. They “bought” our promises and elected us to serve THEIR interests. We also “WALK AROUND:” We live, work and socialize with Republicans in AD 12-13. They are our friends, neighbors and associates. We see, hear and know their concerns to earn a living, meet a payroll and raise a family in San Francisco. They count on us to represent THEM at City Hall and in Sacramento. Our friends and neighbors did not elect us to BETRAY them. They already pay the highest state taxes and have the highest paid city and state employees in the nation. Why would any SFRCC member vote for a higher sales tax, higher income tax, and auto fees that will c ost all California families $1,100 annually. Why would 13 of 27 SFRCC members support, or abstain from opposing, a measure that Democrats are spending millions to pass. Prop 1A will embolden tax and spender liberals in Sacramento and San Francisco and signal Obama and Pelosi to continue to plunder America. I thank Chairman Epstein for his leadership opposing Prop 1A. His deciding vote saved the SFRCC from being the ONLY Central Committee in the state to not oppose a $20 billion tax increase in the middle of a recession. I respectfully ask our 13 members to heed Chairman Epstein, Steve Poizner, Tom Mc Clintock, and the Howard Jarvis Tax Payers Association. (Http//http://www.hjtpa.com%29%c2%a0/; As past SFRCC Chair and present Chair of the SFRA I ask you to remember the friends and neighbors that elected you and please oppose Prop 1A. In 2003, to his credit, Governor Schwarzenegger proposed FIVE ballot measures for bold fiscal reforms. The Democrats spent over $100 million and defeated every measure. The Governor did his best; he’s now been forced to compromise with Democrats, WE ARE NOT. Prop 1A is wrong for our voters in AD12-13, it raises their taxes and reforms nothing. The Republicans in Sacramento that oppose Prop1A are the future of our party; they deserve support of every member. As SFRA Chair I can report the SFRA is now the largest CRA chapter in the state with 45 members. ALL 96 CRA chapters will oppose Prop 1A, and candidates that support Prop 1A. The SFRA will be among them and also encourage SFGOP organizations to oppose candidates that support Prop1A. This=2 0is important to know for all candidates for any city, county, state or federal office in 2010. I welcome your personal response to this report and request to oppose Prop1A.

Democratic AIG outrage is a false flag

March 17, 2009 S.F. Chronicle Editor The outage over the AIG bonuses by the president and the Democrats in Congress is a diversion known as a “false flag;” a military tactic of flying the flag of another country to deceive the enemy, in this case -the enemy is the America taxpayer. Democratic House and Senate leaders Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid wrote the stimulus Bill and rushed it through a Democratic Congress that never read it. President Obama signed it, but he never read it. Democratic Senator Christopher Dodd, who was the 3rd largest recipient of campaign contributions from AIG, included language in the Senate version that protected contractual obligations of retention payments-aka, the Bonuses. Not one Republican in House of Representatives, and only three "Rinos in the Senate voted for this national disgrace. It is a Democrat Bill and a Democrat scandal. That is why the Democratic President, and the Democrats in Congress are flying the false flag and blaming AIG, and "Wall Street." Why is the media that help elect Barack Obama silent? Mike DeNunzio

GOP LEADER APOLOGIZES

Published San Francisco Chronicle, 3/9/09

Editor

Karl Hodges of Castro Valley wants Republicans to apologize for America’s many problems. (Chronicle March 6th) He is correct; the GOP owes America an apology, and it must also make amends.

As Chairman of the San Francisco Republican Assembly, I apologize to every man, woman and child in America. We Republicans failed to do our job to defeat the most unaccomplished and unqualified presidential candidate in U.S. history.

We Republicans apologize for expecting the media to do its job and expose a glib community organizer who never held a real job. We especially apologize for failing to convince rational adults that infantile slogans will not  protect life, liberty and property of the American people, and the free world.

Prudent investors who create jobs know this president is using the economic crisis to impose a radical leftist agenda on America and dismantle the free market. This is why the stock market is falling and unemployment is rising. America’s adversaries know this president opposed the liberation of 25 million Iraqis, and the successful surge, now leads the party of defeat that cried - “this war is lost.” This is why the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, Iran and Al Qaeda will make the world a more dangerous place for everyone.

An apology is not enough; the GOP will make amends and work every day to help this president FAIL to bring European socialism and second-rate national health care to America. We Republicans also will tell every American what this president will never say or do: “We will pay any price, bear any burden to assure the survival of liberty,” and -with no apologies.

UNCRITICAL VOTING

Einstein defined insanity as “doing the same thing over and expecting different results.” In San Francisco perfectly sane voters, “stay with” progressive candidates, and like battered women who stay with their abuser, the *results are always the same; more abuse: (Crime, deficits, debt.)

Uncritical repetitive voting in San Francisco can be attributed to three harmless mental conditions:  Liberal Guilt, Cognitive Dissonance and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

      1) Liberal guilt is acute among socially advantaged voters who feel responsible for evils they had nothing to do with-like Slavery. Sufferers try to expiate their guilt with highly visible support for underprivileged minorities like Mumia Abu Jamal-the cop killer. They preface their opinions with: “Speaking as a caring (3rd, 4th) generation San Franciscan,” then bash Sarah Palin for not aborting her child with Down’s Syndrome. “Isn’t that what abortion is for?” they whisper.

      2) Cognitive Dissonance is harmless when vegetarian airheads wear leather mini skirts. It’s serious when caring mothers oppose parental notification of a minor’s abortion, and patriotic men oppose JROTC. Most “CD” victims are religious leaders, PhD educators, and high school dropouts.

       3) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is the uncontrollable repetitive behavior that sufferers
imagine will protect them from harm.  It occurs when irregular flow of the brain chemical serotonin triggers a false “danger signal.” OCD includes the chant “Bush lied, people died.” Liberals with OCD fear being wiretapped when calling their Republican stockbroker to buy Exxon/Mobile. Moderates fear taking a position. (“Can’t we all get along? they whine.) Conservatives with OCD fear their Dominatrix will quit, or raise her or his hourly fee.

A common medication for OCD is PROZAC; however a side affect-diarrhea reduces attendance at Democrat Central Committee meetings and pro Hamas-anti Israel rallies at SFSU and Berkeley.

*RESULTS OF PROGRESSIVE GOVERNANCE IN SAN FRANCISCO:
Record homicides, a $6.5 billion budget larger than budgets of 20 states, a $500 million deficit, a $4 billion unfunded liability for health benefits, a record 28,000 city workers. Good corporate citizens Chevron, Bank America, Charles Schwab, and hundreds of small businesses have left the city taking jobs and tax revenues with them, and young families leave to seek affordable housing, better schools and safer streets. AND a majority of supervisors who want to raise taxes and fees.

The World Has Changed

To: Editor, San Francisco Chronicle

“The World Has Changed,” proclaimed the headline on the front page inaugural edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. Indeed it has:

On January 20, 2009 Iran and North Korea ended their nuclear programs, Hamas and Hezbollah recognized Israel’s right to exist and Al Qaeda renounced terrorism. Canadians stopped flooding U.S. hospitals and Mexican immigrants applied for visas. San Francisco ended Sanctuary City status and closed its pot clubs.

Guilt laden liberals, and religious leaders, fulfilled Martin Luther King's dream: They now judge people by the content of character, not color of skin, and the Chronicle puts facts on the front page and its opinions on the editorial page.

The change we’ve been waiting for is here, we hope.

NOT A TIME FOR SUNSHINE REPUBLICANS

December 1776 was a desperate time for George Washington’s Continental Army. The British had routed it in New York and New Jersey, forcing its retreat to Pennsylvania, bloodied, demoralized and ready to quit. But Washington would not quit. On Christmas Day he assembled his tattered troops, many with rags on their feet. He had his officers read a passage from Thomas Paine’s pamphlet, The Crisis.” Washington then led his men across the Delaware to attack the Hessians at Trenton. Four years later the British quit. Paine’s immortal passage: (Abridged)

“These are the times that try men's souls…The sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink, yet the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.“

Republicans, we have a river to cross. This is not a time for Sunshine Republicans. We face a daunting task: The 2006 and 2008 election defeats will try our Republican soul, and they should. They are deserved, but not permanent, remember: “I am only wounded- I am not slain (St Barton’s Ode)

In 1964, Barry Goldwater received only 38% of the vote; four years later Richard Nixon was president. In 1976, Watergate defeated Jerry Ford; four years later Ronald Reagan was elected. “The Party of Reagan” won five of the next seven presidential elections to 2004, led the defeat of Communism, and launched 25 years of prosperity.

The Republican Party was created for a daunting task; to end slavery and save
the Union. Today our task is to END “Democrat lite Republicanism and save our Party. Let’s cross that river, take a hard look at our “product” and correct the defects. The CRP officers, county committees and our influential clubs and organizations are the fountainhead for Republican values and issues. IT'S OUR JOB to produce an inclusive “21st Century” Republican product that boldly proclaims the core tenets of our Party. They are canons of belief; not slogans for cheerleaders.

“Government shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. The government that governs least governs best.” (Thos. Jefferson) “Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction; it must be defended constantly.” (Ronald Reagan)

****

Let’s especially tell the nation and the world that we will never demean the Commander in Chief, or demoralize our military, and embolden the enemy. WE ARE NOT DEMOCRATS!
(or Europeans).
